Greetings from Texas!

I’m Dana, a designer that balances the twists and turns of corporate branding during the day and the allure of home baking, gardening and cooking by night.

Hearth and Heritage Recipes is a blog that captures cross-generational stories woven into cherished recipes. From my grandmother's Midwestern kitchen to the flavorful tapestry of my Persian mother-in-law's creations, and my own Texan-inspired concoctions, this blog celebrates the diverse influences shaping my culinary journey.

Running this website is something I do for fun— I love uncovering the history of baking and hope you find as much joy in these stories and recipes as I do! I started it back in January 2024 and strive to bring you new recipes as frequently as possible, so stay tuned for more.

My goal is to encourage others to try new bakes: international, stateside, and from the past. Thank you for being part of this savor-worthy experience—let's bake, create, and cherish these international and homegrown flavors together!

Our recipe blog has been featured in the Galveston County Daily News!

It’s an honor to be recognized by our local newspaper and to have the opportunity to encourage more people in our community to try their hand at baking. Check out the feature article to learn more about my journey and favorite recipes. Thank you all for your continued support – this wouldn’t have been possible without you!

In Memoriam: A Tribute to my Grandparents

This website is dedicated to the Memory of Edward and Dolores.

They belonged to a generation that lived through the Great Depression and World War II, upholding values of honesty, hard work, integrity, kindness, and respect throughout their lives. Their loss is felt every day, leaving an irreplaceable void in our family. Every achievement and milestone with this blog serves as a testament to their influence and unwavering support.
